Even though there are 11 incredible songs in the album, we had to go with It’s Late for our loop series. Will you please tell us about the story of this very track?
This song was written almost entirely one night in August of 2013. I named the file “its late” because it was around two in the morning and the name just stuck. I’d always been into electronic music but up until that point I thought of ABS as an indie rock band type of thing, so I figured “its late” would be an unused experiment. When I showed it to people they were really supportive, so I decided to include it on the album and it changed my idea of what this project should be.
It seems like it somehow gets to touch everyone in a deeper way. What is the secret of It’s Late?
I really don’t know! I never once thought that “It’s Late” would resonate with people the way it has. Maybe because I wrote most of it in one go there’s something in there subliminally that even I’m not aware of.
It’s already been a couple of years since you released Cola. Have you been working on some new music?
Yes! I’ve been working on a new album ever since Cola came out. It’s almost done.

Are you ever going to be making any videos, too?
Yes, my friend Chase Wagner, who plays in the live version of ABS, is an amazing filmmaker. We’ve talked a lot about making videos for the new material.
